PERSON-TRAVIS Helen Person-Travis, age 91 of Bridgeport, departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Saint Vincent's Hospital. Helen was born in Bridgeport on May 17, 1920, daughter of the late Edward Person Sr. and Lola Fort-Person. She was prede-ceased her brother, Edward (Buddy) Person Jr., Christine (Mikie) Person and dearest cousin, Nathaniel Kearney. Helen was a graduate of Harding High School, later studied culinary arts and retired From Newark International Airport. Was an accomplished pianist, had many hobbies, loved arts and crafts as well as knitting and was a fine chef. She often cooked fine meals for the residents of Roncalli Apartments where she lived. She is survived by many cousins, Herbert and Mary Ratley and family of Trumbull, Louise Kearney-Bridgeforth, the Kearney Family of Connecticut,the Sneed family of Connectucut, Alfonso Sneed and Byron Sneed of Bridgeport Ct. Laura B. Brooks of Silver Springs, Mary E Joyner, Florence L Richburg of Washington D.C as well as numerous nieces and nephews throughout the nation. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
